Maintenance

Here is what you can do to keep your appliance performing at its best.

Removing a blockage from the hose
Remove dirt bin

Remove the hose from the base of the machine.

Lift lid

Remove the dirt container.

Lift separator

Drop a ball of paper down the top of the hose. If it gets stuck there is a blockage that needs to be removed.

Cleaning the pre-motor filter
Remove dirt bin

Remove the dirt container.

Lift lid

Turn the lid anti-clockwise to remove.

Remove filter

Remove the pre-motor filter.

Tap filter

Tap the filter against the side of a bin.

Rinse filter

Rinse filter under the tap (40°C max, no detergent).

Dry filter

Allow 24 hours to air dry.

Emptying and cleaning the dirt container
Remove the dirt container

Remove the dirt container.

Empty dirt container

Release dirt from the dirt container.

Remove the separator

Remove the filter from the separator and the separator from the dirt container.

Brush separator with soft brush

Use a soft brush to remove any debris.

Empty dirt container

Replace the separator making sure it is lined up correctly.

Remove the separator

Replace the filter and lid and refit the dirt container on to the machine.

Checking the post motor filter
Remove the dirt container

Remove the dirt container.

Remove post motor filter cover

Twist to remove the filter cover.

Remove the post motor filter

Lift the filter from the machine. If the filter is very discoloured it will need to be replaced.

Check post motor filter

Replace the filter and filter cover. Twist to lock into place.

Removing and replacing the brushbar and belt
Unplug

Switch off and unplug the machine from the mains.

Lie down

Remove the dirt container and lie the machine on its side.

Remove screws

Remove the 3 screws from the belt cover on the side of the floorhead.

Remove belt cover

Pull to remove the belt cover.

Remove location plate

Pull to remove the brushbar location plate.

Remove belt

Twist and pull to remove the belt.

Remove side cover

Remove the brushbar side cover and pull to remove the brushbar.

Cut threads

Cut and threads or hair from the brushbar with a pair of scissors.

Replace brushbar

Replace the brushbar making sure the square end of the brushbar is lined up with the square recess in the brushbar housing.

Replace side cover

Replace both sections of the brushbar side cover, making sure the brushbar remains lined up correctly in the brushbar housing.

Replace belt

To replace the belt firstly hook the belt over the small cog. Slide the belt over the top of the large cog and rotate the belt and cog anticlockwise.

Replace location plate

Replace the brushbar location plate.

Replace belt cover

Replace the belt cover and tighten the screws securely.
